742,407. Photographic diazotype and blueprint materials. KALLE & CO., AKT.-GES. March 19, 1953 [March 27, 1952], No. 7670/53. Class 98 (2). A dispersion of a finely-divided silicate of a metal of the second group of the periodic system produced by reaction in aqueous medium is applied to a porous support such as paper and dried, the light-sensitive substance being either included in the dispersion or applied afterwards. Six examples, providing full details of precipitation of the silicates from sodium silicate and the chloride of the metal concerned and application of the resulting dispersion to paper, specify the use of (1) calcium silicate followed by a blueprint preparation; (2) magnesium silicate followed by a diazotype preparation for blue copies, (3) zinc silicate, (4) magnesium silicate with inclusion in the dispersion of a watersoluble cellulose ether, gelatine, dextrin, polyvinyl alcohol or polyvinyl pyrrolidone or finelydivided water-insoluble synthetic resin followed by a diazotype preparation for brown copies, (5) magnesium silicate followed by a diazo preparation, (6) magnesium silicate with diazo and coupler included in the suspension. Finelydispersed silica may be included in any of the dispersions.
