Abstract
741,984. Regulating superheat in steam boilers. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES. July 4, 1951, No. 15914/51. Class 123(3). In a forced-flow boiler comprising a steam-generating section proper 1 and primary low-temperature and secondary high-temperature superheater sections 2, 3, the temperature of superheat is regulated by injecting water into both superheater sections at such points as 8, 5 respectively. The quantities of water injected may be regulated by temperature-responsive means 10, 7 controlling valves 9, 6, the means 10 being connected to a point 11 in the section 2 close behind the point 8, and arranged to operate only when the steam temperature falls below or exceeds a predetermined value, and the means 7 being connected to. the superheated steam outlet pipe 4. Preferably the water is supplied from the boiler feed pipe at a point 13 between the feed pump 16 and the steam section 1, or, alternatively, a point 15 slightly behind the latter point 13, so that the quantities injected at the two points 8, 5 are proportional to the supply of feed water to the boiler.
