Abstract
741,937. Diamond tools. PRECISION DIAMOND TOOL CO. Sept. 24, 1952, No.- 23954/52. Class 124. A diamond tool for cutting or dressing. metallic or vitreous materials comprises at least one diamond of substantial size and a, matrix of sintered metal powder having a coefficient of thermal expansion not greater than that of the diamond and consisting of an iron-nickel mixture with 35.0-36.3 per cent nickel, preferably 64 per cent iron and 36 per cent nickel. The matrix is stated to form a direct bond with the diamond, which together with the similar coefficients of expansion aids in holding the diamond firmly and effecting good heat dissipation.
