Abstract
740,618. Moulding pie casings. CAMWHEAT PIE MACHINE CO., Ltd. July 9, 1953 [July 18, 1952], No. 18218/52. Class 87 (2). A pie casing is made by forming between a male die and a hoop 4 resting on a rubber inset 3 in a base 1. The hoop 4 is firmly held by levers 7, pivoted on trunnions, so as to bear on the lower bead 6 of hoop 4 and ensure an airtight joint, the levers 7 being held down by movement of lever 12 which turns spindle 10 having flats 13 forming cams which lie in square holes 9 cut in the turned-down front ends 8 of levers 7. When released levers 7 move upwards under the action of springs 16, a cutaway 17 permitting the hoop to be slid out.
