Abstract
740,405. Fastenings; hinges. IMHOF, Ltd., A. June 17, 1954 [June 19, 1953], No. 17087/53. Classes 44 and 65 (2). A quick - release pivotmounting for a lid or panel P pivoted on a frame F, comprises a bracket M for attachment to the lid or panel having an open-ended slot 11 adapted to receive a pivot pin 6 provided on the frame and a latch 12 on the bracket, and normally spring-urged into a position where a hook portion 18 of the latch co-operates with the slot 11 to retain the pivot pin 6 therein, the pin being releasable from the slot by depressing the latch against the action of the spring. As shown, the pivot pin 6 is secured at each end to a side member 2 of the frame F, and co-operates with slots 11 at each end of the panel. The pin when engaged in the slots 11, allows the panel to be swung into the position shown. The panel may be removed by depressing a flange 21 of the latch 12.
