Abstract

739,920. Discharge apparatus. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. Jan. 18, 1954 [Jan. 21, 1953], No. 1455/54. Class 39 (1). [Also in Group VIII] The electrode system for a discharge tube is - supported by a fabric of quartz threads, glass wool or slag wool, at least partly coated with cement. The aperture to accommodate the electrode system may be made by pushing the threads aside, Fig. 2, or punching a hole through the fabric. The fabric can be stiffened by coating with silicone lacquer or silicono resin, wholly or only at the parts engaging the electrode system. Fig. 3 shows a discshaped support with a hole lb, and coated with a ceramic except over the central portion 2. The support may have projections to engage the envelope.
