Abstract

739,787. Reservoir pens. ESSEX CORPORATION. May 24, 1954 [Nov. 3, 1953], No. 15226/54. Class 146(3). In a retractable ball-point pen the writing unit 3 is urged inwardly of the barrel 1 by a coil spring 6 and urges the conical end 11 of a slidable member 9 into contact with the cam face 19 of a plunger 14 having a lateral latch 18. The plunger 14 is non-rotatably mounted in a cap 13, and when it is depressed to the position shown, the latch 18 is canted laterally by the end 11 to project through a slot 22 in the cap.
