Abstract
738,910. Magnetic tests. METROPOLITANVICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. June 10, 1954 [July 22, 1953], No. 20382/53. Class 37. A magnetic polarity indicator comprises a rod 4 (Fig. 2) of high coercivity magnetized transverse to its axis, the rod being provided with a pointer 8 fixed along the axis of magnetizatiorr, and having the ends 5, 5<1> coneshaped to fit into bearings 6, 6<1> in a transparent casing 1, 2. The ferromagnetic rod may be covered by a brass tube with end pivots. In an alternative arrangement the transversely magnetized rod 13 (Fig. 6), a brass shaft 14 with end pivots 15, and a pointer 16 are assembled to be mutually perpendicular.
