[Also in Group XXVII] The control member 24 of the fuel-injection pump of an internal-combustion engine is actuated by a centrifugal governor 14 through a lever 17 pivoted on a rod 25 connected to a manual control lever 26 and connected by links 18, 19 to a cam 21 contacting a cam-follower 22 on the control member 24. The cam 21 is so contoured that at any given position of the lever 26 the quantity of fuel injected and the engine torque have a maximum value in an intermediate speed range and are decreased gradually with increasing engine speed up to maximum engine speed.
