Abstract
The invention comprises compounds of the formula <FORM:0736340/IV (b)/1> where R is a straight or branched aliphatic chain or an aromatic or cycloaliphatic radical. They are obtained by reacting a secondary alcohol of the formula R.CH(OH)-CCH with carbamyl chloride or isocyanic acid, preferably in the presence of an acid-binding agent such as pyridine. The reaction is preferably effected in an organic solvent, e.g. chloroform, at temperatures from 0 DEG C. to room temperature. Examples describe the preparation by such a method of phenylethinyl-carbinol carbamate and 2-methyl-D 4,5-pentyn-3-ol carbamate. Alcohols of the above formula used as starting materials are obtained by reacting an aldehyde of the formula R.CHO with acetylene.
