Abstract

735,995. Injection-moulding apparatus. PRODUX CORPORATION. Oct. 20, 1953, No. 28912/53. Class 87 (2). Plastic material is discharged from a cylinder 22 by a screw 15 through two (or more) apertures 32, 33 in a nozzle 31, conduits 36, 37 in an oscillatable valve 35, and passages 38, 39 each leading to a mould. Only one of the two conduits 36, 37 may be aligned with the apertures 32, 33 at any one time. The nozzle may be attached 'to the cylinder or, as shown, integral therewith. The valve is held against the nozzle by means of a ring 43 and bolts 47, and may be turned by means of a hydraulic cylinder 50 acting through arm 54 keyed on shaft 42 extending from the valve. In modifications, Figs. 4 to 7 (not shown), the valve is pressed against the nozzle by hydraulic means. The temperature of the cylinder 22 is controlled by a water-jacket 25.
