735,900. Transporting material in a liquid stream. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS), Ltd. April 12, 1954 [Jan. 12, 1953], No. 877/53. Class 102 (2). Solid material, e.g. coal, is introduced into liquid under pressure flowing in a pipe line 15, 16 by being fed into an inlet 13 in a casing 10 in which liquid is rotated by an impeller 14 and/or tangential jets so that centrifugal force is developed to force the solid material into the pipe line. The inlet 15 to the pipe line may be fitted with a nozzle 17 and deflectors or jets 18 may be fitted to guide the solid material into the pipe line.
