Abstract
735,565. Pipe joints. MIAG VERTRIEBSGES. Jan. 1, 1952 [Jan. 2, 1951], No. 9/52. Class 99 (1). A pipe line in a pneumatic conveying plant comprises pipe sections 1 which are secured together by muffs 5, Fig. 1, which are slipped on to the smooth ends of the pipes, and flanged guide sleeves 5<SP>1</SP>, Fig. 3, at the entrance points on ceilings, floors and walls, the muffs and sleeves being fixed to the pipes by wedgeshaped locking sleeves 6 having cylindrical bores. Each muff may have a conical bore to receive the sleeve 6, or the muff may have a cylindrical bore, two locking sleeves with conical surfaces in contact being interposed between the muff and the pipes. The sleeves 6 may be wholly or partially split, and a glass inspection tube 3 with sealing washers 4 may be interposed between two pipes.
