Abstract

731,764. Hair slides. TIP-TOP PRODUCTS CO. May 29, 1953 [April 14, 1953], No. 15005/53. Class 131. A ring comb for the hair comprising a pair of curved, flexible and resilient tooth-bearing sections hinged together at one end, the opposite ends of each section being releasably connected together when the sections are in their closed position, is characterized in that the free end of each section is provided with interfitting ribs and grooves which can be snapped into interlocking engagement by a slight bending of one of the sections in a direction transverse to the hinge axis. As shown, the ring comb comprises two semicircular sections 11, 12, hinged together at 13 and having offset inwardly projecting teeth 14, 15. The free end of each section has an inclined surface 20 and a shoulder 18 in the outer surface of which a groove 19 is formed, one side 22 of the groove being inclined and parallel to the surface 20 and the other side terminating in a projecting rib 21. The free ends of the sections snap into interfitting engagement when the end surfaces are pressed together.
