Abstract
730,803. X-ray tubes. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-GES. Oct. 27, 1952 [Nov. 8, 1951], No. 26968/52. Class 39 (1). A fine-focus X-ray tube has a highly-refract. ing electrostatic lens 1 in front of and close to the anode 2, producing an image of the filament in front of, at, or behind the anode, according to the lens potential. Just in front of the hairpin filament 3 is a long-focus Wehnelt cylinder 6, which ensures that all the electrons pass into the lens, and which may be connected to one of the lens electrodes. The window 8 may be of curved glass a few thousandths of a millimetre thick. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 703,387.
