Abstract
729,942. Edge-trimmers. TARPEN ENGINEERING CO., Ltd., and ROSS, J. W. Oct. 14, 1953 [Oct. 24, 1952], No. 26717/52. Class 6 (2). A device for trimming the edges of lawns and grass verges and intended for attachment to the motor of an electricallydriven grass-cutter comprises a cutter 21 attached to the spindle 5 of the motor 1 within a frame formed by a pair of spaced plates 7, 8 attachable to the motor casing, the frame being also provided with a pair of spindles running parallel to the motor spindle and carrying rollers 13 to run on the edge of the lawn. The cutter blade 21 co-operates with a ledger plate 17 formed as an extension of the plate 7. For propelling the device, a socket 2, additional to the socket 4 into which the handle 3 fits during normal use as a grass-cutter, is provided on the motor casing.
