728,507. Converting rotary into oscillating motion. ROSE BROS. (GAINSBOROUGH), Ltd. Jan. 1, 1953 [Jan. 3, 1952], No. 216/52. Class 80 (1). Mechanism for converting rotary into oscillating motion, particularly foi actuating a " beak " 16 for folding wrappers 12 around sweets 11 in a sweet-wrapping machine, comprises a bellcrank lever 17 carrying the " beak " 16 at the end of one arm and oscillated by a crank-pin 18 on a rotating shaft 19. The other arm of the bell-crank is coupled by a link 21 to a pivoted lever 22, 23 having a roller 24 engaging a cam 26 driven in timed relationship to the shaft 19. The cam 26 thus imposes an additional movoment on to the bell-crank 17 to give the desired movement of the '' beak " 16.
