856,721. Gearing for conveying rotary motion. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO. Ltd. Jan. 16, 1958 [Dec. 13, 1956], No. 38106/56. Class 80 (1). A mechanical linkage between an input shaft 1 and an output shaft 2 providing a non-linear angular relation comprises a screw-thread on the shaft 1 adapted to move a co-operating nut 3 axially, a bell-crank lever 5, 7 on an intermediate shaft 6 coupled to a pin 4 on the nut engaging in a slot on arm 5, and a link 8 coupling the arm 7 to a crank arm 9 on the output shaft 2. The link 8 is adjustably coupled by a pin 10 in a slot of the arm 9 to vary the angular relationship of the input and output shafts. Specification 820,223 is referred to.
