Abstract

Union textile materials containing both wool and an organic derivative of cellulose or a synthetic linear polyester are dyed in an aqueous bath containing a wool dyestuff, a cellulose acetate disperse dyestuff, an anionic dispersing agent, e.g. a sulphonated naphthaleneformaldehyde condensation product, and a non-ionic dispersing agent, e.g. a polyethylene oxide ester of a long chain fatty acid, or polyvinyl alcohol. The dyed material may be washed-off in an aqueous bath containing soap and an anionic dispersing agent. Examples are given of the dyeing of wool-cellulose acetate unions, the dyebath also containing ammonium acetate and Glauber's salt.
