Abstract

728,051. Vehicle hoods. LANDSMAN, C. March 27, 1953 [Dec. 28, 1951], No. 30326/51. Class 108 (1). [Also in Group X] A hood comprises a number of sheets 42, 44, 46 mounted on rollers housed in the structure 22 to enable them to be extended over hoop sticks 12 arranged to run on horizontal runways 16 provided at the sides of the vehicle floor. 'The outer hoop-stick 12 is moved by means of an endless chain 48 and the intermediate frames are connected by chains 50. The chain 48 engages a drive sprocket secured to a shaft operated by the handle 70 which shaft is provided with bevel gears to rotate the shafts on which the rollers for the sheets 42, 44 and 46 are mounted.
