728,025. Extruding varicoloured resin articles. PLASTAR SOC. ANON. COMERCIO E INDUSTRIA DE MATERIAIS E PRODUTOS PLASTICOS, and TEDESCHI, G. June 8, 1953 [Aug. 20, 1952], No. 15776/53. Class 87 (2) Plates, sheets or tubes of thermoplastic material (e.g. polyvinyl chloride, polyvinyl chloride acetate, cellulose acetate or cellulose butyrate acetate) having alternate stripes of different colours are made by feeding the differently coloured materials through concentric tubes 1, 2 to disc-shaped chambers 3, 4 at the greatest diameters of which a distributing device 5 (such as 5a in Fig. 4) is located which permits the materials to enter the annular space 6 in alternate zones of different colours. Heat to weld the zones is supplied to the die by coil 8 and they are extruded in the form of a tube which may be cut by knife 7 to give a striped plate. Stripes of three or more colours may be extruded using a corresponding number of concentric tubes and disc-shaped chambers.
