Abstract

725,429. Casting-machines. INJECTA AKT.-GES. Feb. 6, 1953 [Feb. 8, 1952], No. 3381/53. Class 83 (1). [Also in Group V] A die-casting machine comprises a movable carrier structure adapted to receive the movable cope or upper die section and the support therefor and on which are mounted carrier plates movable relatively to said structure for core drawing and ejection, one of said carrier plates constituting a machine ejector plate and the other constituting a machine core plate, these two plates being coupled to the usual die ejector plate and die core plate respectively and forming a permanent part of the machine. The lower diepart 10 is secured to a fixed part 9 of the machine, a gate 11 being provided for filling the die. Four guide columns 12 extend upwardly from the part 9 and slidably support a carrier structure 18 for the upper die parts 20, 19. The carrier structure is moved downwardly to close the die by a hydraulic piston and cylinder 16, 14 respectively. The usual die core plate and die ejector plate 37, 35 respectively are provided (cores and ejector pins not shown), but these are operated through rods 36, 31, from further plates 29, 30 forming a permanent part of the carrier structure. The latter plates are moved relatively to the carrier structure by hydraulic pistons 28, 25 respectively, each plate being provided with a pair of pistons arranged diagonally opposite to one another. The rods 31 connected to the upper plate 26 pass through holes in the lower plate 29. Both of these plates are guided for vertical movement on short columns 18c connecting the upper and lower parts of the carrier structure. Hydraulic control of the machine may be such that the ejector plate is first moved upwardly, then the core plate moved downwardly and finally the carrier structure brought down to close the die. Alternatively, these operations may take place simultaneously. The carrier structure and plates 26, 29 may also be controlled pneumatically or mechanically.
