Abstract

724,493. Projector lamps. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd. June 15, 1953, No. 16405/53. Class 75 (4). In a floodlight comprising a reflector housing 1, a lampholder housing 2 and a reflector 3 secured at its front end to the reflector housing, the lampholder housing 2 comprises a cylindrical body coaxially disposed with respect tothe reflector and having two offset outwardly flared portions at its front end, one flared portion 9a forming a seat to which the rear portion of the reflector housing is permanently secured and the other flared portion 9b extending externally of and supporting the rear portion of the reflector. The reflector is secured to the flared portion 9b by thumb screws 12 which, pass through radial slots in the reflector and engage threaded bushings on the flared portion. The front end of the reflector has an outwardly extending flange 3a abutting a corresponding flange la on the reflector housing. A glass cover 15 abuts the flange 3a, and a clamping ring 14 secured by screws to the flange 1a of the reflector housing abuts the-glass cover. The lampshade 7 is secured to a plate 8 adapted to travel along rods 18, 19 disposed, parallel to the axis of the reflector. The plate has a bush 20 which slides along the rod 18 and another bush 20a which is in threaded engagement with the rod 19. The rods 18, 19 are supported by an inner end wall 22 of the lampholder housing and by a member 23 carried by the other end wall 24 and the rod 19 is rotated by a gear 25 meshed with a gear 26 on a shaft 27 passing through the outer end wall 24 and connected to a hand wheel 28. The reflector housing is pivotally mounted on a stand 4.
