723,859. Conveyers; elevators. MAYNARDS, Ltd. March 3, 1953, No. 5929/53. Class 78 (1). [Also in Group VI] In sweet " sanding " apparatus the sweets are fed by a conveyer 1 to a rotatable bar 7 which propels them into a rotary drum 3, where they are coated with sugar and then discharged on to a conveyer 4. The sugar is fed from a hopper 13 by a feed worm 14 to a chain and bucket elevator 10 which delivers the sugar to the drum through a conduit 9. The drum 3 is mounted on rollers 16 driven through a belt and gearing from a main motor 31 which also drives conveyers 1, 4, worm 14 and bar 7. The sweets are fed through shoot 2 to feed conveyer 1 which is made of wire canvas or the like. The interior of drum 3 has a helical channel.
