723,320. Discharge apparatus. CINEMA-TELEVISION Ltd. July 4, 1952 [July 6, 1951], No. 16066/51. Class 39 (1). In the method of making a vacuum-tight electrical connection to the interior of a discharge tube through the envelope by means of a metallic layer 4 deposited from a paste applied to one envelope member, such as a window 1, subsequently sealed to another envelope member 5, the edges of the paste layer are bevelled, as at 8, to prevent air bubbles forming there during the sealing. A suitable paste comprises finely divided platinum mixed with lead borosilicate as a binder, and a volatile component such as turpentine.
