Abstract

834,267. Cathode-ray tubes. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Sept. 28, 1956 [Oct. 1, 1955], No. 29698/56. Class 39(1). [Also in Group XXIII] The window of a cathode ray tube is sealed to the body of the tube by heating the glass at the junction by electricity supplied through electrodes 69, 70 or 71 . . 74, the electrodes remaining in the seal permanently. The electrodes are thin metal strips and one or more may be used as a conductor to a layer provided on the inner wall of the tube ; or to secure a screen, for colour television, in the tube ; or to suspend the tube in a frame.
