Abstract

723,279. Centrifugal separators. GLACIER METAL CO., Ltd. Dec. 19, 1952 [Oct. 2, 1952], No. 24760/52. Class 23. A centrifugal clarifier comprising a rotary drum 2 having an axial inlet 4, an axial outlet for part of the clarified liquid, and a filter element 11 interposed between the inlet and outlet, is rotated by the reaction of the remainder of the clarified liquid discharging through one or more nozzles 13. The inlet discharges into the drum through pipes 5 displaced from the drum axis, and the nozzles have stand-pipes 12. The filtering element consists of paper, felt, porous metal, or ceramic, and is mounted on a perforated sleeve 10. Specification 668,766 is referred to.
