Abstract

718,319. Pipe joints. LUFTTECHNISCHE GES. June 27, 1952 [June 28, 1951; Nov. 24, 1951; Nov. 24, 1951], No. 16266/52. Class 99 (1). [Also in Group IX] In a thread suction installation for a textile spinning machine in which nozzles communicate with a collecting conduit, the nozzles are mounted to be freely shiftable in the direction of their axes. The nozzles are connected to co-axial tubes or the conduit by flexible connections. Each nozzle may be formed at the end of a tube 7, Fig. 1, connected to the conduit 6 by a ring 15 with which a rubber sleeve 17 attached to the tube 7 is associated to provide an air seal. Instead of the ring 15, a resilient element 17a, Fig. 7, attached to the conduit 6 and tube 7, may be employed. In a variation of this, the element 17a is attached not to the conduit but to a short tube protruding from the conduit. In another variation, a corrugated flexible tube fitting closely against the tube 7 and attached to both the tube 7 and conduit 6 is employed; when the tube 7 is moved to inoperative position, the corrugations become more pronounced and form a firm grip on the tube. In a further form, the tube 7 is divided but connected by a flexible tube. Short nozzles 21, Fig. 4, may be arranged to move within surrounding sleeves 23 and may have spring return means 25.
