Class 52(2) A folding seat consists of wood side frames each comprising two parts pivoted together at 4 one part 1 having its ends bent in opposite directions to comprise the front legs and the back rest and the bent position comprising the rear legs. Each side frame may be connected to the corresponding side frame at the other side of the chair by transverse members such as 3. and at the top of the back. A seat 6 is secured to the part 5 and a back 2 to the part 1. A fastener such as 7 may be provided to co-operate with the transverse member 3 to retain the seat in its operative position. The bends are formed by connecting the limbs of the parts together, the ends being divided up by saw-cuts into several leaves which extend transversely to the direction of the loading force and which are interleaved and glued.
