Abstract

715,997. Paper and like bags; closing bags. UNILEVER, Ltd. June 27, 1952 [July 2, 1951], No. 16275/52. Classes 94 (1) and 94 (2) In a bag comprising an inner tube 3 of material substantially impermeable to water vapour and an outer tube 1 of paper, the two tubes are closed at least at one of their ends by an end seam comprising the two opposite sides of the inner tube heat sealed to one another and heat bonded to those sides of the outer tube to which they are respectively adjacent, the two tubes being substantially separate from one another except at the said end seam or end seams. The inner tube may be a seamless extruded tube of thermo-. plastic material, or may be, for example, aluminium foil provided with a coating of heatsealable material at the end to be sealed. The longitudinal edges of the paper tube 1 are joined by a lap joint 2 which may be made before or after the insertion of the inner tube.
