Class 94 (1) [Also in Group V] A pat of butter 109, Fig. 2, cut from an extruded bar (see Group V) is lifted by the slide 10 through the fixed folding box 42, taking with it a wrapper cut from sheet 22. During this upward movement the rounded-off lower portions of parts 43 and 49 straighten out the two large sides of the sheet and achieve the folding as indicated in Fig. 3a. Parts 46<SP>1</SP> straighten the two small sides and achieve the folding shown in Fig. 3b. The two parts 45<SP>1</SP> cut in the shape of helices act upon two of the corners of the paper and achieve the folding shown in Fig. 3c. Finally the two parts 52 also cut in the shape of helices achieve the folding shown in Fig. 3d. The vertical slide 10 has now reached the end of its stroke, whereupon the butter pat is gripped between fixed jaw 55 and movable jaw 56, and slide 10 retreats downwardly Forward movement of folder 61 on arm 62 is now initiated, achieving the folding shown in Fig. 3e. The timed actions of the various moving parts are produced by the movements of rollers 90, 92, 101 and 103 on rotating cams 81 to 84 respectively which are mounted on the power-driven shaft 85.
