Class 132(3) The doll shown in Figs. 1 and 2 comprises a hollow body 2, e.g. of rubber, which with legs and arms 4, 6 forms a pneumatic bulb which is closed at the neck portion by a thin rubber cup 18. When the bulb is squeezed, the cup is introverted into a position 20 and horizontally pivoted eyeballs 24 connected by levers 26 and a rod 28 to the cup 18 are caused to move. Release of the bulb allows the cup to return to its original position. A sound-producing device in the wall of the body acts as a leak and may protect the cup against excessive squeezing of the bulb. A modification, Fig. 5 (not shown), has a piston and cylinder in place of the cup, and eyeballs having a number of irises are operated step-by-step by the movement of the piston. A further modification, Fig. 7 (not shown), has eyes which are vertically pivoted, and jointed legs, which are movable by means of cords, are attached to rubber cups secured on the hip joints. An animal construction, Fig. 10, has a combined cup and piston device, the cup introverting first to allow the jaw 100 to drop, and further squeezing of the bulb body 97 causing piston 98 to move upwardly and a pivoted ear device to be actuated by piston rod 102. The animal construction shown in Fig. 6 has a movable tail 58, and a still further doll embodiment, Figs. 11-13 (not shown), comprises separate cup and piston devices which cause various parts of the doll, including a cigarette integral with the lower lip, to move.
