711,073. Transformers. METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. Oct. 29. 1952 [Nov. 15, 1951], No. 26794/51. Class 38(2) The magnetic core, which may be of wound strip, of a pulse or other transformer, comprises spaced portions 1, 2 between which is a duct 3 bounded by walls 4. 5 through which cooling fluid passes. When the core laminations are bonded, the top and bottom plates 6, 7 forming the duct 3 may be omitted. The core may be annular and split into three or more portions separated by two or more cooling ducts, the walls 5 and 4 forming part of the casing walls. The outer casing wall may be spaced from the core to allow cooling fluid to pass over the outer core surfaces.
