Abstract

710,211. Bobbins. SCHIESS AKT.-GES. April 17, 1952 [April 24, 1951], No. 9624/52. Class 120(3) A condenser bobbin comprises a plurality of bobbin sections carried by or having relatively slidable parts adapted to be moved together to bring the bobbin sections close to one another side by side, or extended so that the bobbin sections are spaced apart such that when the bobbin is mounted on a machine and the bobbin sections are pulled apart the latter lie immediately opposite the corresponding spindles. or parts of the machine to which slubbings or rovings carried by the individual bobbin sections are to pass, the distances between the transverse centre lines of adjacent bobbin sections being then equal to the distances between the centres of the aforesaid corresponding spindles or parts of the machine. As shown, the bobbin consist of a plurality of bobbin sections 9 carried by a plurality of relatively slidable tubular parts 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8. Each bobbin section 9 is prevented from rotating relative to its respective tubular part by means of a pin 10 which engage a corresponding longitudinal slot 11 provided in the next following tubular part. Spring urged retaining members 12 are provided in each bobbin section 9 which co-operate with depressions 16 in the tubular parts so as to hold the tubular parts in their pulled out positions. Other embodiments show arrangements for two bobbin sections only and means may be provided at centre of the tubular part 8 to engage support means for mounting the bobbin in the machine.
