Abstract

<PICT:0709873/III/1> A thread processing reel comprising at least two interleaved reel members 10, 11 having a periphery of a number of longitudinally extending bar members 12, 13, the reel members 10. 11 rotating about axes eccentric to each other and arranged so that, upon rotation, thread is advanced in the form of a helix, a chamber 29 in one reel member for circulation of a heated fluid therethrough and means, e.g. a tube 41 in the reel shaft 20, for supplying a heating fluid to the chamber, is characterized in that at least one of the reel members is formed of impervious graphite, which is stated to be a good conductor of heat. The reel member 10 having the chamber 29 is preferably the one formed of impervious graphite and the reel member 11 may be formed of a phenol-adlehyde resin or of metallic material.
