709,322. Fluid-actuated valves. INDUSTRIAL & DOMESTIC HEATERS, Ltd. March 29, 1952, No. 8066/52, Class 135. [Also in Group XI] A valve unit for use in a liquid fuel supply system for a burner (see Group XI) comprises a ball valve 7 which is movable by fuel supplied, through an inlet 4, from a seat 6a to a seat 9a to allow passage of fuel through a pipe 8 to the burner. Grooves 11 are provided in the wall of the passage 9, leading from the seat 9a to a suction pipe in the fuel supply line, to allow escape of fuel around the ball 7 for relieving excess pressure in the pipe 8, caused, e.g. by the closing of a cut off valve at the burner. Specification 477,296, [Group XI], is referred to.
