708,596. High frequency transmission lines. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd. June 13, 1952 [June 18, 1951], No. 14955/52. Addition to 704,050. Class 40 (8) In a high frequency transmission line as described in the parent Specification, the ground conductor carries a supporting member which holds the line conductor at the desired spacing, and consists of metal and is a quarter of the operating wave length long. The line conductor may be bowed away from the ground conductor, or the latter may be provided with a recess in order to accommodate a support of this length between the wires. In alternative constructions shown in Figs. 6 and 7, two metal quarter wave supports 17 and 18 are used or a U-shaped support 21, the line conductor being indicated at 1a in these figures, and the ground conductor being 2.
