Abstract
704,744. Hand stamps. ECKINGTON, F. J. May 1, 1950 [April 29, 1949], No. 11459/49. Class 100 (2) An ink stamping apparatus comprises two main perpendicular pillars 4 connected to a base ring 5B and to a guide ring 5A above the base ring, the lower end of a perpendicular stamp carrying shaft 2, passing through the guide ring, the shaft having horizontal support arms 3 below a handle H, which slides on the pillars 4 above the guide ring, the pillars 4 carrying between the base ring and guide ring a split ink pad container 10 which is divided by the shaft 2 as it descends to stamp work positioned beneath the base ring. The stamp shaft 2 is retained in its normal position by springs 12 surrounding the rods 4. The two halves of the stamp pad container 10 are each pivoted to a bracket 7 attached to a rod 4 and which is held against the head 1 of the stamp 2 by a spring 11. A pad is retained in each half of the container 10 by a spring clip fitting in channels.
