Abstract
704.529. Refrigerators. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Dec. 22, 1952 [Dec. 27, 1951], No. 32441/52. Class 29 To seal the suction pipe 10 and capillary tube 9 where they pass through the outer case 2 of the cabinet, a block 18 of rubber &c. having a passage 17 fcr the pipes is arranged between an inturn,ed flange 7 of the outer case and a bracket 20 which can be drawn by bolts 21, 23 towards both the wall 2 and the part 7 so that the block 18 is displaced to construct the passage 17 around the pipes. The suction pipe and capillary tube are secured together and bent to form an elbow 11 to which is soldered a metal sleeve 15 which fits in the passage 17 of the rubber block, and the bolts 21, 23 pass through the block horizontally and vertically and take into nuts secured to the bracket 20. The pipes 9, 10 pass to the machinery compartment in a vertical channel 12 in the rear wall of the refrigerator and are covered by a sleeve 14 of rubber to minimize condensation. The evaporator 5 is secured to the outer side of the inner wall 4 of the refrigerator.
