Abstract
A compensating hairspring is formed from an alloy of Ni 24-27 per cent., Nb 1-5 per cent., Mn, 0.5-1 per cent. and the balance Fe with or without Al not exceeding 1/4 Nb and with or without C 02-0.7, the total of Nb, Mn, Al and C being 1.5-6 per cent., the hairspring being fixed at a temperature not exceeding 550 DEG C. and the iron in the hairspring being in the a state. Specifications 3846/12, [Class 82 (i)], and 383.174 are referred to.
