703,452. Printing on curved surfaces ; inking- apparatus. MASCHINENFABRIK WINKLER, FALLERT & CO., AKT.-GES. Sept. 7, 1951 (Sept. 8, 1950], No. 21211/51. Class 100 (2) In a single- or multi-colour machine for printing on tubes or other cylindrical bodies an inking unit has side plates detachably secured to side supports on the printing machine about hinge members so that it may be swung out towards either side of the machine by releasing the securing means on one side or the other. As shown the printing machine side support 3 has apertured bearings 9, 9a between which lugs 11 on the inking mechanism side plate 7 are retained by threaded hinge bolts 12 removable by hand knobs 13, this arrangement being repeated on the other side of the machine. The offset cylinder 1 receives the image from the plate cylinders 2 and applies it to tubes &c. on mandrels on an intermittently rotated plate A.
