702,338. Endless chain conveyers. REDLER Ltd., A. July 2, 1952 [April 2, 1951], No. 7618/51. Addition to 645,982. Class 78 (1) The chains of the bin discharging device of the parent Specification are driven by intermittently rotated wheels which are themselves rotated by continuously rotating crank pins. The motor shaft 23, Fig. 3, is connected by a train of gears to a shaft 30 on the ends of which are mounted discs 35, 36 carrying crank pins 37, 38. Each pin is adapted to pass between projections 41, Fig. 2, on the side of a wheel 40, 52 and during its movement to bear against the side 41b of the topmost projection and turn the wheel clockwise. When the pin becomes disengaged from the projection on its downward movement, the wheel has been turned to bring the next projection 41c into the topmost position. An annular plate 50 secured to the other side of the wheel 40 is formed with notches 49 to engage the ends of the pivot pins 47 of the chains 45, 56 of the bin discharger. Pawls 53 prevent running-back of the wheels 40, 52. The chains are maintained in engagement with the wheels by the curved guides 55, 56 which are described in Specification 702,372. In a modification the wheels 40, 52 are mounted on sleeves which carry gears mashing with gears carrying sprockets on each side in engagement with the chains. The firstmentioned gears may engage directly with the sprockets and may be formed by mounting a loop of chain on a cylinder. When the sprockets are of large diameter, they may have internal gear teeth with which mesh the firstmentioned gears. The sleeves may be connected to the sprockets by an endless chain, a skew gear or worm gearing.
