696,620. Bearings. DEUTSCHE STAR KUGELHALTER GES. Oct. 12, 1951 [Oct. 14, 1950], No. 23867/51. Class 12 (i). A hub comprises inner and outer sheet metal jackets 1 and 4 containing two half shoulder ball or roller bearings 2 and 3. The jackets may consist of tubular metal lengths, or strips of sheet metal bent into tubular form the abutting ends of which do not require to be welded together. In order that the housing or shaft to be fitted to the hub may be produced within ordinary limits instead of its fine tolerances the jackets are provided with corrugations such as 11 and 12 which are compressed when the hub is pressed into a housing or fitted to a shaft. In a modification the inner jacket only may be provided with corrugations, or both jackets may be so formed. Annular sealing discs 9 are provided.
