Abstract
696,479. Boilers. THOMAS, R. V. Nov. 27, 1950 [July 19, 1950], No. 1381/50. Class 64 (i) [Also in Groups VI and XI] A combined cooking stove, boiler and steam sterilizer comprises a base boiler D forming a water jacket around the fire-box J, a centre chamber C usable as an oven or steam sterilizer, mounted above the base boiler, a food boiler B mounted above the centre chamber, a portable and collapsible frying or braising stand J<SP>3</SP>, and a flexible coil heater T4 through which hot water from the base boiler D is circulated. A flue D<SP>2</SP> passes through the chamber C to the chimney. By operation of a sliding damper L, Fig. 9, hot gases may be diverted across the top of the oven chamber C under a baffle plate 0, and may return above that plate, and below a second plate Z, to the chimney, or they may pass through the plate Z and heat the boiler B. Water is supplied to the boiler D by a tank X. N is a steam chamber connected to the boiler D by flow and return pipes N<SP>2</SP>, N<SP>3</SP>, and provided with valve-controlled pipes A<SP>2</SP>, A<SP>5</SP> for supply of steam to the chamber C and the boiler B. A greenhouse heater T<SP>3</SP> is also connected to the boiler D.
