Abstract

696,378. Universal joints. METALASTIK, Ltd. June 28, 1951 [Nov. 2, 1950], No. 26767/50. Class 80 (ii). A universal joint has on hub portions 10, 11, of the interconnected shafts 12, 13, a similar number of outwardly radiating arms 14, 15, 17, 18, which carry resilient bushes 16 bonded between inner and outer sleeves 25, 26. A ring member 19 encloses the arms and has inwardly directed lugs each containing a resilient bush 24 bonded between inner and outer sleeves. The inner sleeve 27 of each bush 24 is connected to the inner sleeve 25 of a bush 16 by two links 29. A plate 31 screwed on each side of the ring member 19 encloses the links at the sides and may have a sealing ring engaging a hub portion 10 or 11.
