696,206. Hydro-pneumatic suspension devices. BOURCIER DE CARBON DE PREVINQUIERES, C.M.L.L. June 16, 1949 [June 18, 1948], No. 16070/49. Class 108 (iii). An hydro-pneumatic suspension device for vehicles comprises a cylinder C, piston P, and a hollow piston-rod B, the cylinder containing at its closed end, a gas G under pressure, and in direct contact with the liquid, flow through the piston in both directions being allowed by valves D, and there being no means within the cylinder on the air side of the piston (e.g. like the baffle described in Specification 686,723) which affects the movement of the liquid under the influence of movements of the piston. The device may be filled through a valve at V or alternatively through a valve at V<1>.
