Abstract

695,687. Vertical steam boilers. KUCZEWSKI DE PORAY, M. C. Jan. 30, 1952 [March 1, 1951], No. 2530/52. Class 123 (ii) In a vertical steam boiler the inner shell 6 has a converging-diverging throat 10, 11 which is interposed between a lower shell portion, defining a furnace 3, and an upper portion, housing close-ended water tubes 9, and is fitted with an inner, preferably refractory, ring 14. The throat may be formed from two similar metal pressings which are connected together and to the shell portions by welding, as at 12, 13, or by riveting, and a central space free of tubes is provided above said throat to locate a bellshaped radiating body 16.
