Abstract
692,807. Eddy-current brakes. ELECTROMECANIQUE DE L'AVEYRON. Oct. 10, 1950 [Oct. 22, 1949], No. 24746/50. Class 35. In an eddy current brake one member is of good conducting material with separate magnetic projections extending outwardly therefrom towards the two groups of pole-pieces of the other member disposed on either side of the first member. As shown, the bars 5 are of nickel and cast in the disc 6 of copper, brass, bronze or aluminium or they may be secured by other methods and can be of circular, polygonal or rectangular section and can carry fan blades. There can be more than one non-magnetic disc, as shown in Fig. 9.
