692,715. Building blocks; walls. VILLARS, E. W. May 25, 1951 [May 25, 1950], No. 13190/50. Classes 20(iv) and 87(i) A building block 1 is formed on its upper and lower faces respectively with a tongue 2 and a groove 3 and on its upper face with a groove 4 adjacent the tongue 2. The block may be provided with a horizontal aperture 8 or with vertical recesses in its end faces. When the blocks are laid to form a wall, steel rods and/or cement or bituminious grout are placed in the grooves 4. In a hollow wall, double blocks 19, Fig. 4, formed with a central portion having grooves 20 or a tongue and groove are employed in the bottom and top courses 21, 26. Blocks 123 may be employed at a wall corner. Two blocks 1 may be made in a mould for casting a block 19 by inserting a partition member in the mould.
