Abstract

688,105. Venetian blinds. AKTIESELSKABET C. FABERS FABRIKER. Oct. 9, 1951, No. 23511/51. Class 20(iii) Mechanism, for tilting the laths of a venetian blind of the type wherein the slats are supported on ladder-like tapes, and which can easily be accommodated within the top support of the blind, includes a worm spindle 34 which is mounted on a vertical axis between two gear wheels 28, 30 on the ends of rods 20, 22, rotation of the worm spindle 34 by a cord 44, 46, through gear wheels 38, 36 causing the winding or unwinding of side tapes 12, 14 on the rods 20, 22 respectively to tilt slats 18. Vanes 42 on the spindle of the gear wheel 38 provide winding and unwinding compartments for the cord 44, 46 which, when endless, passes through a hole in the centre vane. The mechanism is enclosed in a U-section casing, the rods 20, 22 being supported in a partition 26 and the spindles 34, 40 being mounted between the base of a casing 10 and a lid 52 which is bent in U form to close the ends of the casing.
